Healthier Cuts

I am starting a series about being healthier. We will all benefit from focusing on our health in small and big ways.

How does being healthier tie into health insurance? It ties in because the healthier you are, the less your health costs are going to be. This in turn gives you more options for health care.

Why would that be? Well, if we don’t have to worry about certain medications or particular doctor visits having to be covered by your plan, you’ll end up saving money, as you can pick plans with lower premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs and deductibles. Also, less usage of any health care service will reduce your overall costs.

So, let’s begin with one way you can focus on being healthier.

We can break down our health journey into things we CAN and things we CAN NOT control.

  • Things in our control
    • Food choice
      • LESS PRESERVATIVES
      • FRESH, FRESH, FRESH
      • Organic where possible
      • Avoiding fast food
      • Supplementation
      • Nutrition is such a vital part of your overall health, and not enough doctors are actively educating their patients on this.
      • We need to use the things we can control to affect what we can not control regarding our health
    • Things out of our control:
      • Viruses
      • Infection
      • Cancers
      • By boosting your immune system and taking control of food & nutrition, you will set yourself up for better success against the things you can not control.

My advice: Start with baby steps – these are just a few tips and suggestions. If you can pay careful attention to what you’re eating – avoid processed food and replace it with fresh, organic, vitamin-rich food for one month, I’ll bet you’ll see a difference in your overall health!
