As we settle into 2025, it’s crunch time for health insurance decisions. Tomorrow, January 15th, marks the final day of open enrollment, and it’s your last opportunity to make crucial updates or secure a plan for the new year. Here’s what you need to know:

Open Enrollment Deadline: January 15, 2025

• No Current Coverage? If you haven’t selected a plan yet, now’s the time to act.
• Unhappy with Your Plan? If the plan you chose isn’t meeting your needs, you can switch before tomorrow’s deadline.
• Lost Coverage on December 31? There’s still time! You have until the end of January to enroll in a plan effective February 1.

Important: After January 15, new plans can only be effective starting February 1. Backdating coverage is not allowed, so don’t wait until it’s too late!

Special Enrollment Periods

If you’ve recently lost coverage, such as through an employer or provider like Ascension Health, the 60-day special enrollment window may apply to you.

• Coverage loss on December 31: Enroll by January 31 for a February 1 start date.
