With open enrollment right around the corner, I want to keep you updated on some important changes for 2025. Here’s a quick rundown:
- Ascension Personalized Care Plans are being discontinued, and a new provider called Wellpoint is entering the Texas market this year. I won’t have details on Wellpoint’s plans until October, but it’ll be interesting to see if they offer HMO or EPO options.
- Carriers are now allowed to offer plans with adult dental coverage, and kids’ vision must be included in all plans.
- DACA recipients can now qualify for tax credits if eligible based on income.
- Unfortunately, premiums are set to increase by an average of 6-7%. Blue Cross Blue Shield is estimating a 6.6% increase, which is a bit higher than other carriers.
It’s essential to review your plan each year, especially with changes in deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, and premiums.
Make sure your income information is accurate on your marketplace profile to avoid unexpected price increases during automatic renewal.
With October here, now’s the time to schedule a consultation for November or email me for quotes as soon as plans are available. Let’s make sure your coverage is right for you in 2025!
