Time to Plan

Happy Tuesday, and welcome back to another edition of Tidbit Tuesdays! I know it feels like we’re jumping ahead, but Open Enrollment is already on the horizon, and there’s a crucial change this year that I want to make sure you’re aware of. It is time to plan

If you’re currently covered by US Health and Life (also known as Ascension Personalized Care), I have some big news. They will no longer be offering any plans starting in 2025. This has been a popular option for many of my clients because it’s cost-effective and an EPO plan, meaning no referrals are needed. However, come 2025, we’ll need to transition to a new plan.

What Does This Mean for You?

If you have this coverage, your plan will remain active until the end of December. A lot of people have been reaching out to me, asking if they need to make any changes now. The answer is no—until Open Enrollment kicks off, your plan is good as is. But, during this year’s Open Enrollment, we’ll need to find a new carrier for 2025.

I always review my clients’ coverage annually, and this is an excellent opportunity to make sure everything is still working for you. With your current plan going away, it’s more important than ever to take a look at your options and make sure you’re set up for success in the coming year.

What’s Next?

You’ll start getting emails from me in the next month and a half about Open Enrollment. I strongly encourage you to schedule a time for us to review your coverage. If your information hasn’t changed, you can also shoot me a quick email, and I can run quotes for you when they become available. Keep in mind that quotes won’t be ready until late October, and we can’t officially enroll you until November 1.

A Quick Reminder: Auto Pay Issues

One frustrating thing that’s still happening is the auto-pay glitch. Ever since US Health and Life got hacked back in May, their auto-pay system hasn’t been working, and it seems like they’re not in a rush to fix it, especially since they won’t be offering plans next year. So, make sure you log into your portal each month to manually pay your premium. You do have a 30-day grace period, but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

You can use their portal or a guest member link to make your payment, but I recommend doing it online for the quickest processing. Mailing in a payment will take forever, so avoid that if you can. Also, they still accept credit cards for premium payments, so that’s another option if it works for you.

Looking Ahead

Once we get closer to Open Enrollment, I’ll be able to provide more details about the new options. Right now, we’ve got a few EPO players like Oscar and Moda, but each comes with its pros and cons. We’ll need to ensure your doctors accept the new plans, so that’s another factor to keep in mind as we move forward.

Your current coverage is good until the end of December, but changes are coming, and I’m here to help you navigate them smoothly. Keep an eye on your inbox, and let’s make sure you’re ready for 2025!
